Cut the Complaining: Day #1.5

Cut the Complaining. “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all.”

As expected, today I got a number of perspective shifts related to complaining. One of those was the idea that affirmations and positive words are the opposite of complaints. Then – perhaps by divine timing – I happened upon a recording of Abraham Hicks who said affirmations were not helpful if they caused “a wobble” of disbelief in them. (Sorry, no link as the video disappeared before I could copy the link for it.)

In other words, if the positive words were just masking a firmly held belief or complaint, they would not be effective. The solution to this is rather than saying the opposite of the complaint, saying something any amount more positive about anything you can wholeheartedly believe in and therefore not “wobble.” I’ve been pondering that idea ever since and will try to write more about it when I have something clear to say.

I also watched a video from Louise Hay, who I think of as the queen of affirmations. Louise said that using affirmations was like taking a step towards a more positive outlook. From her perspective, it sounds like a “wobble” is ok if you were previously unable to move or falling down by being negative. Maybe it’s kind of like a baby who – through their wobble – gets stronger from rolling around on the ground and who will eventually run circles around their parents, wobbles forgotten.
