Give Up Electronics for 1 Hour: Day #4
Challenge 1 – Give up electronics for 1 hour a day to putter, free think, nap, be creative, rest or do nothing.
Day 4 – I woke up again early with energy and used it to head out the door to an impromptu yoga class. I gave myself an A+ for getting to the class. Unfortunately, the class itself had a substitute instructor (Chrystal) who I would give a C, especially compared to the usual instructors I go to. Lesson learned.
I also took my bike to get tuned, found a really nice for now convertible chair/guest bed at my favorite thrift store, and purchased some new silverware and cookware in preparation for having my very first dinner guest at my new apartment this evening.
I also tried some new vegetarian recipes today (broiled eggplant with ginger/raspberry balsamic glaze; roasted cauliflower; and a bacon-free/alcohol free version of sautéed cabbage and apples with raisins, brown sugar, and walnuts + a dash of the ginger raspberry balsamic glaze). Before dinner, my friend and I hung some artwork around my apartment, allowing me to feel more at home and ease in my space. After he left and I cleaned up, I went for a 2 mile or so walk around my neighborhood, listening to music and my favorite inspirational speaker.
I’m writing this at the end of the day instead of the beginning so I’ll stop now to wind down for the night, go tech free, and get some pages in. It was a good day!
